Derek & Amanda:: Vintage-Inspired Engagement Session

I recently shared just a teaser of Derek and Amanda’s fabulous engagement session at Benton Airpark and Turtle Bay.  It was just a peek so it was only a quick collection of my favorites, something to share with them while they waited.  But now they have their disk of images and I can share more of my favorites from our session together.  I had such a great time with these two and cannot wait to photograph their wedding in May!!    Well, less words.  Here is more of this handsome guy and his beautiful fiance…

The beautifully restored aircraft we got to use as our prop!    I know nothing about planes but when I saw this, I knew it was a beauty!!

This classic plane was just begging for a vintage look…  I love how everything came together! Seriously, she is gorgeous!

I just love the way he can make her laugh!  They are absolutely adorable together!!

Fabulous couple, right?!

I just love this one!  Such a fun moment!

Luke & Kim:: Engagement Portrait Session

It was years ago that they met.  She thought “He’s pretty cute.”  He thought, “She’s my friend’s little sister.”  But that’s when things got started.  Now, fast forward through the years… friendship has grown, love has bloomed.  Now she thinks, “He is stinking cute!” and he thinks, “I need to make that beautiful woman my wife!”  On Christmas evening, Luke took Kim on a stroll in the drizzly rain to admire the beautiful Christmas lights on the neighboring houses.  When they rounded the corner, they looked up on the roof of a friend’s house and in sparkling white lights his proposal was spelled out: “Marry me Kim”.  He dropped to his knee and she said “Yes!”

We stepped out on a VERY brisk morning a couple weeks ago for this fabulous couple’s engagement session.  As you can see, they are amazing!  It is such a treat to watch this love unfold as this couple count their steps toward becoming one!  Luke and Kim- may God greatly bless your time of preparation until you are one!  You two are fabulous!!

Aren’t the two of them just AMAZING?!  Kim can bring it!  And Luke with those phenomenal blue eyes! RAWR!!

These last two weeks have been busy ones!  Here I thought with the new year I’d be getting things checked off the ever growing lists- you know, clean out my 2010 photo files, organize the office closet… man, how I LOVE crossing off lists!!  Instead I’ve been doing more fun things than that- I’ve gotten to spend my time with good friends and fabulous clients for a variety of sessions.  It started off with a family/maternity session, followed quickly by a couple engagement sessions and then a birth session and infant portraits that came a little sooner than we had expected.  But I wouldn’t trade it for anything on my lists!

I promise I’ll be sharing bits from these amazing sessions but today I wanted to share a little from the fabulous engagement session with Derek and Amanda.  Derek is a pilot so when they suggested going out to the Benton Airpark for a portion of their portraits, I was excited!!  And then when they showed up in their vintage-styled attire, it was love at first sight!  I love being able to tailor these sessions for my clients, making them a pure reflection of who they are.  And Derek and Amanda were fabulous!  Seriously gorgeous!!  Check them out!

Hevner Engagement

Nathan and Jessica are getting married tomorrow!  Nate has been away in Iraq for most of their engagement and recently returned to the States just a couple of months ago.  However, since he was stationed in Tennessee, it made doing engagement photos a bit difficult.  So, just last week, 7 days before they become husband and wife, we were able to head to Downtown Redding for those long awaited shots.  And man are they gorgeous!  Nate and Jessica are such a beautiful couple; models really!  It has been a pleasure watching how the Lord has drawn them together over the years and blessed them through one another.  I am SO excited about getting to shoot their wedding tomorrow!!  It’s going to be fabulous!  Nate and Jess- thank you for allowing Ryan and I into your lives!  We have been blessed through you two greatly!tn_color-portraits-11
