Justin- Class of 2012:: Senior Portraits

Just last week I was able to capture just one more senior from the class of 2012: a very-soon-to-be West Valley graduate, Justin! We had great fun capturing all the different aspects of who he is: snowboarder, runner, all around awesome guy! I loved it that his girlfriend of two years, Ashley (also a 2011 senior!) was able to join us for the session as well- she really brought out those authentic smiles!!  And what a great smile it is!

No, not an engagement announcement!  Just a sweet promise ring he gave to her on their second anniversary

 

 

Congratulations to you both Justin and Ashley!  I so look forward to what God has in store for you guys!!

It’s the first day of November and things are finally starting to feel like fall around here. Yay! Bring on the jeans and sweaters and peppermint mochas!!

Well, things have been busy around here and I have more family sessions to share soon but last week I mentioned that senior portraits are wrapping up and I have my last senior session to share with you today: West Valley senior, Marcus! (Totally just had a run-on sentence!!)  I’ve known him since he was a little guy (like 4 or 5) and it’s wonderful to see what kind of a man he is becoming.  Marcus is a guy who loves football and fishing so when we planned his session, I knew we needed to incorporate those aspects, stopping by a football field and ending the shoot down by the river!  I love how everything came together; the lighting was fabulous and Marcus rocked the shots!

Fall is rapidly approaching, senior portrait season is wrapping up, and school deadlines for yearbook submissions are heading our way. I’m putting the finishing touches on my last senior guy that I’ll be sharing next week sometime but today I get to share some portraits of a very beautiful West Valley student, Christine.

When Christine and I chatted about her session she wanted somewhere uncomplicated and natural. She said that is very much who she is. And she wanted to be sure to bring along her library of book; she loves books!  When I heard this, I thought, “15-20 books, great!”  When we met up at the park last Sunday she had a car load of books!!  She laughed as she explained, “I had to bring every one of them; I just couldn’t pick a favorite!!”  It was a blessing that her mom and sister came along to help lug those things around with us!!  I had such a great time with Christine, capturing her natural beauty and silly faces!

Christine-  May you have a fabulous senior year!  I know that it’s gonna be amazing and that God is doing amazing things in and through you!

At this point in our session, the sun started playing peek-a-boo with the clouds giving us some amazing lighting….  These were some of my most favorite portraits!!

This session was not without adventure as well… just before these shots, Christine got bit by a very angry yellow jacket on her arm through her sweater!  She is such the stud; we took a break for a moment, and she collected herself and we headed out onto the dock for some final shots!  She is superwoman I’m sure of it!

Brian:: Class of 2012- Foothill High Senior Portraits

I’ve known Brian for some time. I still remember him as a young boy, running around our church halls with his red hair and a cute smile. Now he’s grown up into a young man, starting his senior year at Foothill High- still with that red hair and cute smile! I had the privilege of photographing him and his family earlier this spring and then again just a couple weeks ago for his senior portraits. And I can tell you, this guy is the greatest! In the times we’ve hung out over the last couple months, I’ve seen that he truly is a guy who loves the Lord, loves his family and loves life! I had so much fun with him!  He knows how to bring it for the camera!  There are some many favorites to share!!

 

 

Brian is a wonderfully talented musician and works with his youth group’s worship team

 

 

 

During the session we were teasing that these would be Brian’s album cover images… I think he rocked it pretty good!

Calvin- Shasta Secondary Senior

Being involved with youth ministry with my husband allows me to be a part of many fabulous students.  Yes, it does involve crazy late nights but getting to be involved in so many amazing students lives is a blessing.  Calvin is one of those students.   He is a wonderful student (taking Calculus as an elective- crazy!), beautiful piano player and he is a young man of great character- including patience and endurance when my three kids use him as their personal jungle gym…  This week marked his last week as a high school student (he graduated early through Shasta Secondary’s program) so we stepped out during Thanksgiving break for his senior portrait session around downtown Cottonwood.  In the freezing weather.  Okay, 45 degrees isn’t freezing but near enough.  Even still, Calvin rocked it like a champ!

Cal-  Thank you for the many blessings you are to those around you- including my crazy kiddos!  You are a wonderful man of God!  I look forward to the many ways He uses you in the future.

Absolutely one of my favorites!! :)
